Founded in 1760 by François Delamotte, the House of Delamotte is one of the 5 oldest champagne houses. The Houses Salon and Delamotte are both part of the Laurent-Perrier group.
An emblematic cuvée of the house, Delamotte Blanc de Blancs delights lovers of great Chardonnay by revealing the chalky terroir from which it comes. As an aperitif or with shellfish, it embodies the Delamotte moment. A child of the grand cru Chardonnay, Delamotte blanc de blancs is of total purity, the vinification process takes place in stainless steel vats. Blanc de Blancs is a mineral champagne whose chalky sensation is maintained thanks to a light blend of reserve wine (10% maximum). This note is the very essence of our vineyard and chardonnays which grow on a pure chalk soil. Yes, the wines can be austere in their youth, which is why the ageing on lees - well beyond the legal minimum of fifteen months - lasts four to five years before disgorging. Post-disgorgement ageing will further enhance the finesse and elegance of this cuvée.
