Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Its straw color offers a bouquet nose of red fruit and fruits’ cork with roasted notes. The palate is balanced, bold, fine, full-bodied and big with a tight grain. The lingering finish offers melting fine bubbles.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The muselet (iron string) that surrounds the champagne’s cork is twisted 6 times!

Domain and appellation

  • Bruno Paillard

Founded in 1981, the Bruno Paillard maison established itself internationally with 75% of its sales dedicated to the export. The domain also stands out through sustainable viticulture practices that aims at preserving the Champagne’s terroir.

    • Terroir: The vineyards lay on a typical Champagne chalk soil. Sustainable practices allow the vines to go deep down the soil and ensure their perennity.

    • Viticulture: Grapes are for some sourced out from local winegrowers and for others stemming directly from the Paillard’s vineyards.

    • Vinification: This Champagne Première Cuvée (First Growth) is made of pinot meunier, chardonnay and pinot noir that stems from over 30 different crus. 20% are fermented in oak barrels. The Champagne ages for three years on the lies and lays for another 5 months after degorgement. The dosage is low with less than 6g/l.
