Our oenologists' opinion
Its garnet-coloured robe with a tint of brick offers a distinctive nose based on notes of sweet spices, juniper and animal. Mellow finish.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Château de Cots
Located between Saint-André and Blaye, the Château de Côts has been a family-owned property since 1930. For more than 10 years, the chateau has been producing organic wines, approved by the inspection agency ECOCERT.
- Terroir: The 15-hectare winery is located on one of the best plateaus in the commune of Bayon-sur-Gironde. Vines grow in silty clay-limestone soil.
- Vinification: A long, 5- to 6-week maceration in thermo-regulated vats is followed by ageing in vats and barrels of 2 or 3 wines for a period of 14 to 18 months.
