Fruity and well-rounded

Ruby colour with purple hues. Open nose of cherry syrup, ripe strawberries, hints of violets, a touch of minerality. Good balance on a frank, straightforward, full-bodied wine. Well-signed character with violets, a hint of liquorice, undergrowth, supple and melted tannins. Good length, quite sapid.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

Château Mont-Redon

The Abeille-Fabre family has owned Château Mont-Redon in Châteauneuf du Pape since 1923. Our vineyards extend to other appellations in the southern Rhône Valley, which we cultivate with the same high standards and respect for the rhythms of nature. For the red Côtes du Rhône, the grapes are harvested at perfect maturity after validation by tasting the berries. Harvesting is both manual and mechanical as well as optical sorting. 100% de-stemming followed by a 15-day maceration fermentation which allows our Côtes du Rhône to acquire a structure and tannic structure that make it a wine capable of acquiring several years of ageing. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured in vats in our cellars and bottled within 8 to 10 months.
