Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

A link between the Beaujolais and Rhône Valley vineyards, the Coteaux du Lyonnais covers the Monts d'Or region to the west of Lyon. Vines were already cultivated in Roman times, when Lyon (Lugdunum) was founded 45 years BC.

Located in the southernmost appellation of the Beaujolais, Coteaux du Lyonnais Les Monts d'Or is bottled by Jacques Charlet.

Terroir: The vineyards lie not far from the Massif Central on granitic and sandy-clay soil in a semi-continental climate. Viticulture: Gamay is grown as a single grape variety for the red wines. Vinification: The Coteaux du Lyonnais appellation produces easy-drinking wines to be enjoyed in their youth. The wine is bottled by Jacques Charlet, owner and wine merchants in Burgundy and Beaujolais.
