Fruity and well-rounded

With its brick robe with garnet reflections, this wine offers a nose with notes of cherry syrup, blackberry coulis, fresh juniper tip. On the palate, it presents a good balance, full-bodied, vinous on dense and tight tannins. Final tense with mocha notes.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Bouchard

    In 1820, Bernard Bouchard brought the former Château de Beaune, a royal fortress built in the 15th century by the king Louis XI.
    Nowadays, four of the five original towers of the castle and some parts of the rampart are still standing outside. The whole monument is classed as historical monument since 1937.
    Deeply buried, the underground cellars are going across the whole property. It offers ideal and natural conservations conditions to the vintages Bouchard Père & Fils.
    Up to 10 meters of depth, the wines are aging gracefully. Amongst them, a unique collection of nearly 2000 bottles of 19th century. This historical heritage is priceless.


    • Terroir: The soil is made of limestone and in majority of clay. Five hectares of vines are cultivated.
    • Viticulture: Harvests are done manually. A particular care is given to the sorting of grapes. In function of the vintages, the grapes are totally or partially destemmed.
    • Wine-making: The fermentation is made using little tanks and the gentle pressing is made to have an optimum result. The grapes rests in tanks for 12 to 15 days. The wine ages during 8 to 13 months inside French oak barrels whose 20 to 60% are new.
