Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Dark purple colour. Open nose with floral notes of lilac, black fruit and peach jam. Good balance on a full-bodied wine, rather fleshy and full, small finesse, freshness, nice fruit. Straightforward finish with a hint of liquorice.

Robe
Purple

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The vinifications without sulfur reveal the most pure expression of Gamay Noir.

Domain and appellation

  • The Vin Nature à Butiner is from a selection of old vines, around the 50s, situated on the fully southern hillsides, close to the villages of Lantignié and Régnié. This consists of decomposed rose granite, mixed sand and pebbles, which produces a fruity and floral wine. The approach is traditional, with manual harvests and in containers so as not to crush the grapes and berries. The vinification and the bottling are done without any added sulfur in order to preserve the fruitiness and elegance of this terroir.
