Fruity and crisp

Its ruby color offers a good nose that opens with notes of red fruits and sweet pepper. On the palate, this wine has a good balance, freshness, nerve and ripe tannins.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Cellier Léonard de Vinci

    In 1931, Charles Bellamy and some winegrowers created the Limeray Wine Cellar, renamed since 1995 Cellier Léonard de Vinci in honor of this  visionary inventor who lived at Clos Lucé, a few kilometers from the cellar, from 1516 to 2 May 1519, the date of his death.

     
     

    •  Terroir: The vineyard is located on the left and right bank of the Loire. The soils are of the type: "Parakeets" (flint clays that are easily warmed) and "aubuis" (clay-limestone that give power to the wine). The Loire brings to the terroir an Atlantic type climate.


     
     

    •  Viticulture: As part of a quality approach, the vineyard is managed in a reasoned way. In order to ensure a healthy harvest, the viticultural treatments are limited.


     

    •  Vinification: Vinification is done at the Cellier, in a traditional way. Bottling and storage are also carried out at the Cellier.
