Fruity and crisp
This straw-colored wine that has green highlights releases fragrances of citrus fruits spiced by a note of peppermint. In mouth, it is well-balanced and frank. It shows its temper after the attack, with a strong taste of citrus fruits. The finish showcases an incredible freshness allying with a strong fruity taste.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
While drinking a glass of “French Colombard” in the USA, the French grape variety used to elaborate this wine, André Dubosc, a Gascon producer, understood the great potential of this variety. Until then, it was only used to produce bas-Armagnacs.
Domain and appellation
The cellars of Plaisance, Aignan and Saint Mont have gathered their savoir-faire, inheritances and terroirs to form the cooperative Plaimont Producteur in 1979. The cellars of Crouseilles and Condom have joined the cooperative 20 years later.
- Terroir: Plaimont Producteur represents 98% of the Saint Mont designation. Spread across 3500 hectares at the crossing of the Gascogne, the Béarn, the Pyrénées and the Gers, the vineyard cultivates the grape varieties courbu, mansengs, tannat, pinenc, arrufiac, colombard and cabernet sauvignon.
- Viticulture: Concerning the viticulture, a strict contract is established between the winegrowers, the expert and the terroir.
- Wine-making: The macerations are long and the extraction are made in an extremely soft way. A patent filed by the cooperative protects the methods put in place to showcase the thioalcool molecule that causes the aromas of exotic fruits and citrus fruits of the wines made in the South-West of France.
