Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Fragrances of this coral-colored wine with pink highlights is a bunch of greediness and freshness. Fragrances of strawberry are mixing with a rose perfume. This wine is tasteful and well-balanced. He deserves by far its name of “Lively et Mineral”. In fact, its lively side shown by its fruity taste is counterbalanced by an iodic notes, bringing the mineral.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Les petites récoltes, “The small harvests,” carry the European label IGP “Protected Geographical Indication.” Those wines speak for their terroirs and were created specifically for Nicolas.

Domain and appellation

  • Nicolas

The "Petites Récoltes" range is the result of a collaboration between Nicolas and cellarmen that are able to use in the best way the land around them. Their specificity? A wide range of regional varieties associated with "traditional" varieties of designations, for assemblies in search of fruitiness and freshness that adapt to the desires and the taste of consumers. Nicolas' oenologists annually assess the quality of new vintages and decide the assembly and dosages. This exclusive assembly is done with method and precision. It demands a bottling process made in excellent conditions. The respect of many sanitary conditions and of the original quality of wines is imperative. This technical nature is guaranteed in the places of bottling chosen by Nicolas.
But the “Petites Récoltes” are particularly paying attention to the selection of wine-makers that are engaged to adopt a reasoned agriculture. They have to take care of the quality and the quantity of their crop. They also have to be respectful of the environment.
