Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Its pale straw color offers an open and quite powerful nose of white flowers, blackcurrant bud and notes of exotic fruits. On the palate, this wine presents a good balance, dry and nervous, on a pretty character. Final quite tense and fresh.

Light Straw

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Obikwa takes its name from one of the first peoples of Cape.

Domain and appellation

  • Les Caves Adam Tas

Obikwa is a wine made in Adam Tas cellars in Stellenbosch (South Africa).

    • Terroir: The grapes come from selected vineyards in the wine regions of Paarl and Worcester in Western Cape, and planted between 1970 and 1988 at altitudes of 130 to 180 m above sea level.

    • Viticulture: The manual harvest extends from mid-February to early March when temperatures reach 21 ° C.

    • Vinification: After crushing, the juice is then fermented cold in stainless steel tanks at 13 ° C for about 14 days to preserve the intensity of the flavor.
