Powerful bouquet

Brick colour with garnet reflections, frank nose of sloes, roasted wood, still notes of fresh boxwood. In the mouth, nice balance, quite heady bottom, frank, nice character with a woodiness still present but not overpowering the notes of red fruit and cooked prunes, frank and melted finish.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The name « Listrac » take its origins from the latin word « Lista » meaning limit, edge. It refers to the border between the two Médocs, the forest one and the wine-making one.

Domain and appellation


    Located between Moulis and Saint Julien, Listrac is called the « Médoc roof ». The vine growing area of the Fourcas Dupré castle extends over 46 hectares.


    Terroir: The soils are an amazing mix of gravell, clay and limestone. Vines are on average older than 30 years.
    Wine-making: The tub of the fermenting room is thermos-regulated efficiently. The control of the fermentation temperature is very precise and contributes to the preservation of the fruit and the freshness of the wine. It assures as well the extractions of the good tannins at key moments of the alcoholic fermentation.
