Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Its dark garnet color announces a nose of roasted red fruits and licorice with a hint of wooded note. The palate is balanced, straight, full-bodied, and round.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
Created by the Baron Philippe de Rothschild, the Mouton Cadet Réserve is made of a thorough plot selection to highlight Bordeaux’s best terroirs.
Domain and appellation
Created in 1930 by the Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Mouton Cadet reflects the wealth and diversity of the Bordeaux terroir through a wine that remains accessible to everyone.
- Terroir: The grapes come from the entire Bordeaux region thanks to a partnership with over 450 winegrowers that are spread across 1200 hectares.
- Viticulture: Those established partnerships allow high-end plot selections. The winegrowers are tied to the Mouton Cadet maison through defined specifications.
- Vinification: Combining modernity and technicality, the main Bordeaux grape varieties are thoroughly blended in a consistent manner in order to maintain the typical blackcurrant flavor. The incorporation of a water treatment facility that uses reeds allows Mouton Cadet to extend and deepen its environmental-friendly practices.
