Fruity and crisp

Its garnet color offers a fruity nose of cherries, blueberries and fresh menthol notes. On the palate, this wine presents a nice balance, frank, straight, with a nice character on red fruits and ripe tannins. Final frank and straight.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Truncated-cone tanks are sometimes favored for the fermentation. Those tanks have a conical shape that allows a greater thermal inertia for a slower fermentation.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Faiveley

    Located on one of the most prestigious terroirs of Bourgogne, the Faiveley domain only produces Grands Crus wines, First Vintage and Villages designation since 1825.

    • Terroir: The Faiveley domain has a vineyard scattered through the whole Bourgogne. The vineyard of Mercurey les Mauvarennes extends on 11 hectares. The soil are made of clay and limestone. This vineyard only produces pinot noir.
    • Viticulture: From winter pruning to the harvests in summer, the attention paid to the vines is important. Harvests are done manually during 10 days in September.
    • Wine-making: After the maceration, a pre-fermentation is made cold. The wine ferments in barrels in the winery of Mercurey. This wine ages inside oak barrels for 11 months.
