The Louis Latour domain stretches on 48 hectares, whose 27 hectares are Grand Cru. It is the biggest domain of the Grands Crus of Bourgogne.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Louis Latour

    The heart of the Louis Latour domain is located in the Aloxe-Corton village that is the birthplace of the family since the creation of the Maison. In the south-west of the town of Santenay, the Maranges designation is located in the south part of the Beaune coast.
     

    • Terroir: Planted of Pinot Noir, the hills of this vineyard are exhibited south-east. The vines grow on a clay soil.
    • Viticulture: The vines are 30 years old on average. Harvests are manual. The Pinot Noir is then patiently hand-picked and entirely scratched before the barrel fermentation.
       
    • Wine-making: The fermentation is done in a traditional way, in open tanks. The wine rests 10 to 12 months in a stainless tank. Those operations take place in the Corton Grancey cuverie.
