Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Silver highlights adorn this grey and pink wine. At nose, fragrances of grapefruits and exotic fruits are to be discovered. Keen, the attack demonstrates a particular freshness through mineral notes. Thanks to its light sweet taste, this wine is well-balanced.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Gérard Bertrand

Internationally prestigious, the domain Gérard Bertrand contributes to the standing of the South of France vineyard, world’s biggest wine-making area. Surrounding the most beautiful terroirs of the Languedoc Roussillon region, the Gérard Bertrand wines bring together tradition and innovation.

    • Terroir: Grapes come from two calcareous and calcareous clay soils. The first is located in the Pyrénées-Orientales department, notably in Tautavel where small yields accentuate their mineral concentration. The second is near the Thau basin. It is caraterized by the maritime activity that bring a saline side to the wines.

    • Wine-making: The process is similar to the one used for the white wine. To preserve the delicate pale color, grapes are pressed directly after harvests. Only the juices are kept. The fermentation at 16- 18°C is made to extract the varietal aromas and preserve the natural freshness.
