Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

Get tempted to discover the temper of this unique and original garnet-colored wine. Original because fragrances of black fruits perfectly ally with fragrances of sweet pepper. In mouth, it is well-balanced and full-bodied. Unique because of the length that unveils an other side of this wine, with notes of caramel and vanilla.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

The wine-making region of Bordeaux has influenced Chilean wines that are mainly composed of grape variety coming from Bordeaux as the cabernet sauvignon and the merlot.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaines Barons de Rothschild

Associate the ancestral savoir-faire of the Maison Philippe de Rothschild to the powerful identity of the Chile terroir and you will obtain a range of unique and atypical wines.

    • Terroir: Located in the central valley, 45 kms away from the south of Santiago, the vineyards have a real geological and climatic diversity. On stony subsoils, the vineyards of the north benefit from a dry climate. In south, the climate is humid and soils are composed of clay.

    • Viticulture: The Maison Philippe de Rothschild also buys grapes through partnerships with local producers.

    • Wine-making: The control of macerations give the wines a well-balanced and fruity character. Half of the vintage rests in oak tanks during 6 to 8 months.
