Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and light

With its dark ruby color, this wine offers us a nose of roasted black fruits with hints of fresh spices. On the palate, it presents a good balance, rather winey, on round tannins and fruity. Finale fond and greedy.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Maison Lorgeril

The Maison Lorgeril is an independent family property created in 1620. It owns domains in the South of France, between the Rhône River and the Pyrenees mountains. Indeed, the Maison Lorgeril is the owner of 5 other wine-making domains, all located at altitude between the Languedoc and the Roussillon territories.

    • Terroir: The vineyard is located on the limestone hills of the Black Mountain, in the side of the city of Carcassonne. This, it benefits from climatic features identical to the ones of the Cabarbès wine.  The soil is made of clay and limestone.
    • Viticulture: The Maison Lorgeril cultivates a beautiful mix of oceanic grape varieties and Mediterranean grape varieties.
    • Wine-making: The Maison Lorgeril follows the traditional Bordeaux method. It consists in controlling the temperatures during the wine-making process. The maceration lasts for 10 to 15 days.
