Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
White gold colour with silver/green reflections, limpid and brilliant. Open nose with tart notes of lime and green tea, fairly vegetal. Supple attack, acidulous, small body, small frank character; small lengthening on citrus fruits and elderberry syrup, mineral hint at the end of the mouth.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
The harvest is carried out at the beginning of October, when the grapes reach advanced maturity.
Domain and appellation
The Saumur vineyard covers more than 800 hectares on the south bank of the Loire.
The main characteristic of the Saumurois region is its clay-limestone soil: this white and soft rock called tuffeau allows the vines to take root well and provides a moderate water supply. The plots are selected as the harvest approaches, in August and September, for their ability to offer grapes rich in aromas.
