Dark garnet colour with brick tints, open nose with woody notes, toasted, roasted, then black fruit coulis, hint of pepper. Supple attack, full of balance, frank length, medium body. Round tannins, long finish with notes of cocoa and liquorice. Good persistence on notes of leather..

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation
Château Tour Prignac
Managed by Yannick Gay since 1979, the Château Tour Prignac stands among the largest Medoc vineyards. Les Hauts de Tour Prignac is the domain second wine.
- Terroir: Spread across 300 hectares, the domain has over 147 vines with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, and malbec as the main grape varieties. The soil is made of clay, limestone and gravels. Each hectare has 7200 plants.
- Viticulture: The harvests are mechanically made.
- Vinification: In the vat room, the winemaking process is handled plot-by-plot. The youngest plots are worked in priority. Grapes are subjected to an extremely quick malolactic fermentation in thermo-regulated tanks. The wine ages for 6 months is oak barrels. Eric Boissenot, Château Latour and Château Margaux oenologist, share his savoir-faire with the domain since 2008.
