Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Garnet colour with a purple sheen. Straightforward nose of fresh spices and blackcurrant coulis. Opens on notes of cherry bigarreau, black pepper. Ample attack, full-bodied, well-balanced. Straightforward, full-bodied, with round tannins. Character on morello cherry, blackcurrant and fresh spices. Good persistence.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

This cuvée "Les 2 Bastides" takes the name given to these Provençal dwellings which are very present in our vineyards. It is a nod to this type of construction.

Domain and appellation

  • Originally, two winegrowing brothers produced this organic wine in the region, and had inherited two similar bastides facing each other.

This wine comes from a harvest that is entirely de-stemmed and received at a reserved quay. A natural fermentation can then take place with a vatting period of about 10 days where a full and silky wine will be obtained.
After the end of the malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured for about 6 months in vats.
