Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and light
Fragrances of exotic fruits, lychee and rose are released by this straw-colored wine. It is followed by scents recalling dried fruits and apricots. The same aromas are to find in mouth, where the attack unveils a perfect match between greed and tension. The finish is a concentrate of frankness, taste and greed.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Do you know ?
The Gewurztraminer was with the Riesling, one of the most expensive wines of Europe before the revolution. Traminer is the name of the grape variety, Gewurtz which means "spicy" Alsatian.
Domain and appellation
The Vineyard of the Maison Kuehn is located in Ammerschwihr, in Alsace. It rests on a patchwork of floors and basements that give it all its richness and originality. The vines blossom on the best slopes of Ammerschwihr on a soil dominated clay-limestone.
