Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Fragrances of exotic fruits and yellow fruits are released by this yellow-lemon-colored wine. This wine is well-balanced. It is greedy and has a real personality. Notes recalling mimosas are allying with touches of dried fruits. The length is frank.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Kuehn

The vineyard of the Maison Kuehn is located in Ammerschwihr, in the Alsace region. It rests on a patchwork of soils and undergrounds that give it richness and originality. The vines come out on the best hills of Ammerschwihr on a predominantly clay limestone soil.

    • Terroir: Kaefferkopf owes its reputation to the geological nature of its soil, which associate the granite for the most elevated parts to clay and sandstone below. The vineyard peaks at 350 meters.

    • Wine-making: Kaefferkopf has a particular originality compared to the other Grands Crus: because of its anteriority, it is one of the rare Grands Crus of Alsace that can claim the blend of many grape varieties such as the Gewurztraminer, the Riesling and the Pinot Gris.
