Our oenologists' opinion
Its ruby color offers a bouquet of nose on woody, spicy aromas and then notes of red fruits. On the palate, this wine has a lively and fresh attack on silky tannins. Slight sweetness at the end.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The village of Rully is very old, it would have been cleared first by a Roman named Rubilius.
Domain and appellation
Maison Joseph Drouhin
Founded in Beaune in 1880, the Maison Joseph Drouhin is managed by the fourth generation today.
- Terroir: Located at the gates of the Côte d'Or, a few kilometers south of Santenay, this terroir is part of the Mercurey region. The vineyard rests on limestone strata of the secondary era that extend those of Mercurey.
- Viticulture: Soils are fed with manure and white wood, sometimes with the Guanos. They are plowed either mechanically or by horses to contain the herbs. Treatments only with organic products.
- Vinification: Maceration lasts 2 to 3 weeks with controlled temperatures. The wine is then matured in oak barrels (10% new) for 12 to 15 months.
