Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
Frank nose on candied citrus fruits and white flowers. Notes of jasmine and bergamot. Opens with aromas of yellow fruit, spices, ginger, with a woody hint and brioche. Supple attack with fullness, tension and fat. Clear length on citrus fruits. Persistence on white flowers.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Domain and appellation
This estate was created in 1960 on a place called "les Crés Ricards" in the town of Ceyras.
In 2010, Jean Claude Mas acquired the 27 hectares of the chateau there and extended them to 42 hectares in 2013. He is particularly fascinated by the fantastic terroir of the Terrasses du Larzac, capable of producing velvety wines with intense aromas.
At the foot of Mont Baudile, this vineyard offers a unique geography, with its red soil, its schists and its rolled pebbles. Yields are low and berry selection is severe to obtain generous wines.
