Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

With its white gold color, this wine gives us a discreet nose with notes of citrus, ferns and a hint of iodine. On the palate, it presents a frank and acidulous attack, on notes of citrus fruits. Crunchy and fruity finish.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine San Guilhem

In 2015, with the producers of Gerland, we took over from Alain Lalanne, winemaker precursor of Gascony.

    • Terroir: On this area of 60 ha, the plots retained for this wine are all on clay and limestone soils and under oceanic influence.

    • Viticulture: The mechanical harvest is done from the beginning of September for Sauvignon Blanc and until mid-October for Gros Manseng.

    • Vinification: Maceration for 8 to 18 hours before gradual and gentle pressings. Fermentation in vats with separate grape varieties. The assembly of the different lots is effected at the end of the alcoholic fermentation, there is no malolactic fermentation to maintain the freshness of the wine. The first bottling is done in early spring.
