Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Its straw-yellow color offers a frank and open nose on notes of toast and brioche, then notes of white flowers, citrus and hints of honey. On the palate, this wine has a sharp, frank attack with a hint of minerality.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

Truncated-cone tanks are sometimes favored for the fermentation. Those tanks have a conical shape that allows a greater thermal inertia for a slower fermentation.

Domain and appellation

  • Joseph Faiveley

Present on the most prestigious terroirs of Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley only produces Grands Crus wines, 1er Crus, and Villages appellations since 1825.

    • Terroir: The parcel of an area 5 ha 27 is exposed East on clay-limestone soil.

    • Viticulture: The grapes are cut and sorted by hand.

    • Vinification:  The must is extracted using a pneumatic press. The alcoholic fermentation is completed in 4 weeks and partly (50%) in French oak barrels, including 10% new oak. The breeding continues for 16 months with regular stirring, the other part of the cuvée being aged in vats. This allows the wine to acquire delicate woody notes while preserving its freshness and typicality.
