Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

This pale pink wine is ideal if you are looking for a tasteful and flavored rosé wine! At nose, you will discover amazing fragrances of banana, marshmallow and acidulous candy. Full of greediness, it is well-balanced. In mouth, you will experience the aroma of the acidulous candy once again. It is enhanced by a touch of white pepper that awaken the whole.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

There are two methods of winemaking for rosé. Direct pressing involves squeezing the grapes very gently after harvesting. Le rosé de saignée is the most common method and consists in allowing the berries to macerate in vats.

Domain and appellation

  • Château la Gordonne

Château La Gordonne is one of the largest properties in Provence with more than 350 hectares of which 300 are vineyards.

    • Terroir: Located in a circus of shale , the vineyard of Château La Gordonne has a special microclimate. The winters are not rigorous and the summers warm and dry, allowing the vines to capture all the heat of the Provençal sun.

    • Viticulture: The vine is cultivated in a clay-limestone plain and on schistous slopes. Poor in humus, the soil is also permeable, shallow, stony and well drained, ideal conditions for the growth of the vine.

    • Vinification: A large variety of grape varieties, typical of Provence, is present on the Domaine. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Tibouren, Rolle and Sémillon. These noble grape varieties allow to develop rosé, white and red wines, all AOC Côtes de Provence.
