Our oenologists' opinion
Its garnet color offers open nose of black fruit syrup and then roasted notes. On the palate, this wine has a good balance, full-bodied with character and wrapped tannins.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation
Château de Tiregand
Set high in the hills of Pécharmant, this area of 405 hectares was listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments. The Château de Tiregand is the property of the heirs of the Countess François de Saint-Exupéry.
- Terroir: The vineyard of 43 hectares is based on a soil composed of sand, gravel and a severe ferruginous underground.
- Viticulture: The domain promotes grape maturity by short pruning, controlling the yields of each plot (disbudding and green harvest).
- Vinification: Fermentation of 8 to 10 days temperature controlled vats precedes a maceration period of wine "on grounds" of about 10-15 days. The wine is then aged for about 12 months in oak barrels with 20% of one wine barrels.
