Our oenologists' opinion

Its garnet color offers a nice nose of roasted fruit with fresh mint and pepper notes. On the palate, this wine has a good balance, character and a medium body.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Oulieres

The Château Oulières is located at the heart of the village of Pescadoires, near the Le Lot River.

    • Terroir: The vineyard is composed of ancient alluviums. It is made of silica, hence the frequent presence of gravel on the plots.
    • Viticulture: Ranges of vines labored or sprinkled of grass that allow a regulation of the plant’s vigor in function of the present sediments on the exploited plot. This technique often used helps obtaining an optimum quality of grape.
    • Wine-making: It is made following the traditional method, inside of stainless steel tanks. The extraction is slow and smooth to preserve the fruity taste and the roundness of the wines and the suppleness of tannins.
