Powerful bouquet

Fragrances of caramel and nutmeg are getting out of this dark garnet-colored wine. Round and greedy in mouth, it will demonstrate its full-bodied and tasteful side. The finish is satin-soft and pleasurable.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Appearing in the seventeenth century, the notion of "Cru Bourgeois" was given to the Bordeaux bourgeois productions of the time who owned the vineyards of the Medoc.

Domain and appellation

  • Barton & Guestier

    Bought in 1979 by the Barton & Guestier House, the Château Magnol is known to be the headquarters of the company, a wonderful guest house and a unique place dedicated to training with wine. Produced by the Barton & Guestier house, Château Magnol is classified as a Cru Bourgeois.


    • Terroir: Located in Blanquefort, northwest of Bordeaux, the vineyard of 30 hectares has an ideal microclimate for the vines and rests on very poor soils, composed mainly of gravel and little sand.


    • Vinification: An alcoholic fermentation lasts three weeks before malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged in tanks on lees with a controlled oxygenation. After assembly, it is placed in barrels (30% new) for 12 months. The wood used comes from the Tronçais forest in the center of France and the forest of Jupille, near Le Mans. At the end of barrel aging, the wine is bottled at the castle.
