Our oenologists' opinion
Well-rounded
This garnet-colored wine has fragrances of green pepper and blackberry jelly. In mouth, its attack is plump and roasted, with a full-bodied sensation. This wine has roundness and a real personality. Tannins are elegant and soft. The finale is plump as well but also spiced with a fruity taste. It has length and persistence.

Features
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin
The Château Lacaussade-Saint-Martin dates back to the 19th century. Repurchased in the early 90’s by Jacques Chardat, the vineyard’s size keeps expanding since.
- Terroir: Located on the edge of the Gironde right bank, the vineyard lays on clay-limestone soils.
- Viticulture: Much care is given to the vines in order to only produce fruits that are perfectly ripened.
- Wine-making: The winemaking process is orchestrated by the oenologist Eric Delacroix. The maceration and fermentation is handled plot-by-plot. The wine ages for 6 months in oak barrels.
