Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Its brick color with garnet reflections offers a nice vinous and fruity nose of cherry coulis, strawberries and fresh notes of ginger. On the palate this wine presents a fine balance, straight, with finesse, fruit, and character. Final on pretty mature tannins.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Born from the Celtic "ar" and "bos" meaning "fertile land", the story speaks for itself. It is in Arbois that Pasteur realized in 1878 his remarkable experiments on fermentations. "The more one drinks, the more one drinks straight" (local saying)!

Domain and appellation

  • La Fruitière Vinicole d’Arbois

Founded in 1906 following the phylloxera crisis, the Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois is a wine cooperative created by 26 Arboisian winemakers. In 1969, it obtained the Château Bethany, in the heart of the Jura town of Arbois. It assembled a successful winery and winemaking facilities for the vinification of five Jura grape varieties: Poulsard, Trousseau, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Savagnin.

    • Terroir: The 250 hectares of the cooperative are based on clay and limestone soils and slopes of blue marl, gray and red Revermont.

    • Viticulture: In the vineyard, sustainable agriculture is privileged and vines are cared for throughout the year.
