Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful wine with potential

Its garnet color offers a rather open nose with notes of eucalyptus, roasted wood, blackberry and pepper. On the palate, this wine presents a rich attack, full and a fatty side. Final on the tension and a pretty character.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Beauregard

The history of Beauregard dates back to the 12th century and the Knights Hospitallers of Saint Jean of Jerusalem, to whom we owe the famous Templar Cross, emblem of Beauregard. Beauregard Castle has been owned by the Moulin and Cathiard families since 2014.

    • Terroir: The 17.5 ha vineyard is located on the south-eastern edge of the famous Catusseau plateau.
    • Viticulture: The harvest is manual, and started on September 23rd and ended on October 10th. "We took our time to pick up each plot at its optimum maturity, helped by excellent weather conditions."
    • Vinification: The alcoholic fermentation was made at a regulated temperature around 30 ° C to preserve the fruit, the vatting lasting between 3 and 5 weeks in total. The malolactic fermentation took place in new barrels for the best vats of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Aged in new oak barrels.
