Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Its yellow color with green highlights offers a fresh nose of fennel, white flowers and fresh apricot notes. On the palate, this wine presents a good balance, quite full-bodied, with a good freshness and a character on notes of fresh almonds and hazelnuts. Final frank.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The cellar of Tain received the praises of famous American wine taster Robert Parker, who classified it among the most beautiful wine cooperatives France.

Domain and appellation

  • Cave de Tain

Founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche, the Cave de Tain benefits from the expertise of 300 wine-growers. They produce wines designated as Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Cornas and Saint Péray but also local wines on more than 1000 hectares of vines.

    • Terroir: Selected plot for this Saint-Péray have a granitic base covered of silts, loess and limestone fragments.

    • Viticulture: Plots’ yields are limited to guarantee an optimum maturity of the grapes.

    • Wine-making: This white wine is exclusively produced from the Marsanne grape variety. After a soft pneumatic pressing, the fermentation is done partially using barrels and thermos-regulated stainless steel tanks. The wine ages on dregs in tanks and 40% of it in barrels.
