Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Garnet colour with purple tints. A frank nose of roasting, coffee and mocha. Opens with roasted plums and candied red fruits. Ample attack, full and balanced. Straightforward lengthening of the body. Character on notes of cumin and spices. Aromas of candied red berries, black pepper. Clear finish, medium persistence.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Delas Frères

Since more than 180 years ago, the winegrower's heart of Delas Frères expresses himself with rigour and passion on the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley. The Domaine wines and plot selections that are produced illustrate the policy of the House, which is focused on the quality of the terroirs. Under the impetus of Fabrice Rosset, since 1996, Delas Frères has undertaken a major investment programme: new vat room, renovation of the ageing cellar, acquisition of vineyards. The recent acquisition of a property in the heart of Tain l'Hermitage provides Delas Frères with a real showcase for the vinification and ageing of its most prestigious wines. This new site will contribute to the reputation of the House by becoming a privileged place to welcome its visitors.
