Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Its light and shiny straw color introduces a fresh and volatile nose with aromas of hazelnuts and menthol and hints of wooded notes. The palate is balanced, straight, round, ample, characterized with a hint of minerality and tense finish.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Do you know ?

The term “climate” is utilized in Burgundy to designate all the localities that benefit from unique geological and weather conditions.

Domain and appellation

  • Joseph Burrier

Established in Burgundy for over 500 years, the Joseph Burrier maison owns the Château de Beauregard since 6 generations.

    • Terroir: Spread across 43 hectares, the Joseph Burrier vineyards produce wines under the Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Morgon, Saint-Amour and Chiroubles appellations. Located on the Beauregard plateau and surrounding the château, the Vignes de Chaintreuil lay on a clay-limestone soil.

    • Viticulture: Environmental-friendly and sustainable practices aim at preserving and enhancing the vines that are 30 years old in average. Harvests are hand-picked. Spread on steep slopes, the Pouilly-Fuissé vineyards are characterized by various “climates”. The harvests are thus often spaced out in time.

    • Vinification: After a selective cut on vibrating tables, the harvests are fermented both in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks in order to create balanced wines.
