Located at the crossing of the Dordogne, the Garonne, the Atlantic Ocean and the Landes Forest, the Bordeaux AOC appellation offers a wide viticultural area for the production of wines. Over 50% of the Bordeaux wines carry this appellation.
- Terroir: Produced all over the Bordeaux region, those wines are issued from a diverse terroir. The soils are made of gravels, limon, alluvial deposits terraces, limestone and clay.
- Viticulture: The AOC requires a maximum production of 60 hl per hectare.
- Vinification: The reds are mainly blended with cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc while the whites are mostly made of sémillon and sauvignon blanc. The alcohol content must be between 10 and 13.5%.
