Our oenologists' opinion


Its bright garnet color offers a nose that opens on spicy notes of wild berries, blackberry and menthol. On the palate, this wine is round, nervous, spicy and has a good envelope with a finish on tannins that blend.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

    The Château Hauteville is one of the properties belonging to the Brousseau family, along with Château Haut-Coteau and Brousseau.


    • Terroir: This wine is produced on 7 hectares in the commune of Saint-Estèphe. Vines grow in clay-limestone soil.


    • Viticulture: Harvesting is done manually.


    • Vinification: Long maceration takes place over nearly 3 weeks. Fermentation happens in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels (20% new).
