Powerful bouquet

Dark garnet colour with bright red reflections, limpid and brilliant. Open nose with hints of cocoa and strawberry jam, greedy, racy. Ample, velvety, full-bodied attack, beautiful satin finish, character on red fruits au gratin and pepper. Beautiful balance, beautiful finesse, silky tannins, very pretty. Sapid finish, with a promising patina.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The grape varieties of this mosaic soil is 70% merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Domain and appellation

  • Terroir : Six generations of winegrowers have succeeded one another since 1850 to shape this 17-hectare vineyard in the heart of Saint-Emilion, uniting to the west the gravelly hilltops adjoining Pomerol with the clay-limestone plateau of the "Menuts" to the east of the medieval town, listed as a World Heritage Site.
    The grape varieties of this mosaic of soils are 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
    Viticulture: Certified 14001 (Bordeaux Wine SME Association) and High Environmental Value Level 3, different agronomic techniques are implemented to promote biodiversity in our vineyard and life in our soils in order to develop a better resistance for our vines and limit our impact on the environment. The grapes are picked and sorted by hand by our faithful grape pickers. Vinification: Sulphite-free fermentation and ageing for one year in Bordeaux French oak barrels.
