Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and crisp

Fragrances of red fruits enhanced by spices and sweet pepper are released by this garnet-colored wine that has ruby highlights. With its supple and smooth attack, the mouth is well-balanced and greedy with a great length. The tannic structure is all about roundness and is harmoniously mixing to a taste of red fruits.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Domaine Bassoul

Terroir of the Languedoc region exploited since the Gallo-Roman epoch, the Bassoul domain is located half-way between the Mediterranean Sean and the first buttrests of the Massif Central. The vineyard of 90 hectares is bordered by oaks and garrigues. Each harvests, plus the limited use of sulphite, the aging on dregs and the savoir-faire of the Domain give birth to ripe, fresh and round wines.

    • Terroir: This vintage, exclusively made for Nicolas, has been produced on the historical plots of the vineyard.

    • Wine-making: Stainless steel and concrete tanks are used to vinify the wine that will age 6 months on dregs on concrete tanks.
