Our oenologists' opinion

Fruity and well-rounded

Garnet colour with a fuchsia sheen, limpid and brilliant. Open nose with notes of raspberry coulis, vanilla and wild strawberries, with a hint of amyl. Supple attack, supple and ripe tannins, red fruit character, crispness, tension. Well-balanced, straightforward. Sapid finish, mineral hints. Beautiful wine, persistence on spices and fresh red fruit.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Domain and appellation

  • Created in 1923, the cooperative la Chablisienne today covers 25% of the Chablis vineyard with more than 300 winegrowers. Terroir: Stretching over 1175 hectares, the vineyards of Chablisienne rest on Kimmeridgian soils with alternating marl and marly limestone with deposits of small oysters. The plots are generally facing south-east, south and south-west with a mosaic of different climates. Viticulture: The cooperative has the particularity of harvesting the grapes in the form of must in order to immediately evaluate the quality of the different plots.
