Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

Garnet colour with some brick tints, nice nose of black fruits, green banana, fresh notes of peppermint, good balance on a vinous wine, frank and signed on notes of dry spices, maquis, boxwood, supple tannins, good frank and melted finish.

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

A Casetta means "The Little House" it represents the authentic dwelling of a terroir, one where the men that work the land live. Today, one can always find these dwellings, close to the vineyards, which bears witness to the history of the Corsican viticulture and the Corsican attachment to their land.

Domain and appellation

  • On the slopes of the eastern coast, and in the inner valley of the Golo, lies the cradle of the traditional Corsican vineyard. It is set against the rocky ridges, which rise to 1200 metres. A range of rich terroirs can be found here.

    •     Terroir: The terroirs are located on the east coast of Corsica.
    •     Viticulture : Working the soil, natural weeding and control of yields.
    •     Vinification : The grapes come mainly from carefully selected properties (only from Protected Designation of Origin). Fermentation is carried out in Mythos vats (Italian technology used on the great wines of Tuscany). The fermentation temperatures are perfectly controlled. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for a minimum of 12 months before bottling.
