Fruity and well-rounded
Get ready to discover the balance, the power and the temper of this dark ruby-colored wine. Fragrances of red fruits are spiced by a touch of black pepper. It will accompany you during the tasting that features the winey side of this limpid wine. The attack is supple. Tannins are smooth and the finish is full of flavors, powerful and full-bodied.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The name « d’Aux » refers to the knights that in the 17th century were owners of the domain. In those days “Patache” meant diligence. Those two names juxtaposed makes a reference to the domain’s history, founded by horsemen. It was then confiscated during the French Revolution by the state to become a crossing point for the diligences.
Domain and appellation
Château Patache D'aux
Located on the village of Bégadan, this Château with the Médoc designation is part of the Lapalu domains since 1964. Designated Cru Bourgeois since 1932, the Patache d’Aux castle still continues to receive numerous prices and awards.
- Terroir: The vineyard extends on 70 hectares. The soils are calcareous clay and subsoils are made of clay and stones.
- Viticulture: The grape varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit-verdot are typical of the region.
- Wine-making: The fermentation is made using thermo-regulated tanks made of concrete and stainless steel during 3 to 4 weeks. The wine rests during 12 months inside in French oak barrels. 33% of them are renew every year.
