Our oenologists' opinion

Well-rounded

This brick-colored wine has highlights recalling tiles. Fragrances of dry fruits are mixing with a wooded note, with cinnamon and dry fig. In mouth, it is a characterized by its taste of cocoa and spices.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Located between the Dordogne and Garonne, l’Entre-deux-Mers stands among the region’s main vineyard areas. Mostly known for its dry white wine, the region also produces red wine and rosé that are classified as Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieurs.

Domain and appellation

  • Château Latour Camblanes

Extending on 40 hectares, the Château Latour Camblanes offers breathtaking views of the Garonne valley. This Bordeaux wine of the Entre-deux-Mers, acquired in 1982 by the Castel family, is designated as Côtes-de-Bordeaux.

    • Terroir: Located on hillsides, the soil of the vineyard of 30 hectares is made of clay and limestone.

    • Viticulture: The ideal geological and meteorological conditions allow perfect ripeness of the fruit. A particular care is given to the vines during the harvests, whose process is adapted to the vintage.
    • Wine-making: With the advice of the expert Alain Reynaud, the wine is subjected to long alcoholic and then malolactic fermentations and a post-fermentation maceration. Then it ages in oak tanks during 12 months.
