Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and well-rounded
With its dark purple robe, this wine offers you a frank and open nose with floral notes of lilac then fruity with gratin of black fruits, boxwood. On the palate, it has a good balance on a medium, fairly vinous body, nice frank character on ripe fruit, hint of mocha, coconut, ripe and supple tannins.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Domain and appellation
Château Moulin des Blais
The farm has been in the same family since the 17th century. Our ancestors were millers. Polyculture and animal husbandry have evolved over the generations. The vine gradually took over from the other productions that were stopped in the 90s. I took over the exploitation in 2014 and converted it to organic farming.
