Chateau des Demoiselles 2014
Located between Saint-Emilion and Castillon la Bataille, Château Des Demoiselles is one of the Ducourt family properties. Since 1858, the Ducourt family is one of the largest independent wine units from the Bordeaux region with 440 hectares of vineyards spread over 13 castles.
- Terroir: The 31 hectares of vineyards of Château Des Demoiselles rest on a sandy clay soil. The field is led by farming with grape varieties of Merlot at 70% and Cabernet Sauvignon at 30%.
- Viticulture: The vines are pruned "à la bordelaise" in guyot. Green harvests are practiced.
- Wine-making: Pre-fermentation of cold maceration before alcoholic fermentation is in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. After a gentle fermentation of 3 weeks, the wine is aged in oak barrels for a year.
