Our oenologists' opinion
Fruity and crisp
This garnet-colored wines confronts two sides. On one side, it is full of freshness with its fragrances of juniper. This characteristic is also findable in the finish, particularly marked by it. On the other side, this well-balanced wine gives pride place to spices, with its strong personnality and its fragrances of pepper.
Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.
Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.
Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.
Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.
Do you know ?
There are over 690 cooperative wineries and unions in France. Together, the 84000 winegrowers produce 39% of A.O.C wines (French appellation wines), 71% of Vins de Pays (local wines) and export over a third of their production abroad. Acting as a collective force, those cooperatives allow winegrowers to focus on their vineyards without directly having to take care of the winemaking process and the commercialization of their wines.
