Our oenologists' opinion

Powerful bouquet

With its garnet color, this wine offers us a nose of yellow peaches and candied fruits. On the palate, it presents a good balance, full-bodied, vinous, with a character on sweet spices and hints of undergrowth. Final on mature tannins.

Features

Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

Do you know ?

Domain and appellation

  • Maison Jacques Charlet

Today, Jacques Charlet is directed by Barbet family, related to Charlet following several weddings. They also own the historic properties located in Saint-Amour and Juliénas.

    • Terroir: The diversity of soils and exposures, each plot has a unique character. We select the wines of the best "climates" and take care to preserve all their character.

    • Viticulture: To pick the grapes at optimum maturity remains our golden rule. This philosophy results in two principles: the quality of the harvest and respect for the typicality of our terroirs.

    • Vinification: Depending on the estate and the crus, we will opt for aging in vats, wooden casks or oak casks. The wines are in the cellar and here time has no hold. Our wines are resting, rounding, sharpening the necessary time, before being bottled with delicacy.
