Fruity and well-rounded

With its ruby color, this wine offers a discreet nose, vegetable enough on pink pepper, currants and roasted notes. In the mouth, it presents a supple and fruity attack.



Body ? The body is the way a wine feels inside the mouth. Several factors, such as the alcohol content and the presence of tannins, contribute to the feel of the wine.

Freshness ? The freshness of a wine is defined by its level of acidity. Unlike rounded wines, fresh wines are easy to drink, and are more lively. Acidity plays a necessary part in a wine's structure.

Aging ? All wines do not have the same aging potential. Some are supposed to be consumed at a young age while others must be kept for longer periods of time.

Tannins ? Coming from stems, grape pips and their storage barrels, the tannin gives structure to red wines only.

The Nero d'Avola is an Italian black grape. Its takes its name from the city of Avola, in the South-East of Sicilia. It can be found almost only in Sicilia. It is the most renowned grape variety.

Domain and appellation

  • The domain is located on a hill called Sambuca di Sicilia, in the Belice valley where a wonderful vegetation borders the city, rich of myths and local legends.


    • Terroir: The territory of Sambuca di Sicilia form a rich terroir planted of ancient vineyards. It is the descendant of a thousand-year-old tradition. This place benefits from an open-air thanks to the absence of polluting activity. It also takes advantage of a crystal-clear water (the lake of Arancio) and an ideal micro-climate, featuring important thermic ranges, even in summer. These are the perfect conditions to elaborate a wine that has temper and personality.
    • Wine-making: The maceration is done controlling the temperature. Every four hours the reassembly is done. It consists in pumping the juice at the bottom of the tank and putting it at the top of it. The maceration lasts 10 to 12 days. The pressing is done softly to prevent the extraction of green and bitter tannins. The wine ages in stainless steel tanks.
